About SpeechTimer

A focused utility for speaking practice

SpeechTimer helps people make time visible while they prepare, present, evaluate, teach, debate, or run a meeting. The site connects a small timer to the decision around it: what the visitor is trying to rehearse, what the next edit should be, and which local or official instructions still control.

We are independent and are not affiliated with Toastmasters International, a contest organizer, a wedding venue, a school, or an event brand unless a page explicitly says otherwise.

Our Mission

SpeechTimer is a free set of speech timing tools built for Toastmasters members, presenters, teachers, debate coaches, event organizers, and anyone practicing public speaking.

Our goal is simple: make speech timing and meeting preparation fast, clear, and reliable. No sign-up, no download, and no unnecessary distractions.

Our Principles

  • 100% Free — Every tool is completely free with no premium tier
  • Privacy-aware — Timers do not need speech text, recordings, or an account; browser-only settings are explained where used
  • No Sign-Up — Use any tool instantly without creating an account
  • Mobile Friendly — Every tool works on phones, tablets, and desktops
  • Source-scoped — Current rules and event instructions remain more authoritative than a generic preset
  • Measured — Releases are checked in production and kept only when they improve a real visitor job

How we improve the site

Find a real job

We start with a distinct user need—time a talk, run a meeting, practice a prompt, or prepare a role—rather than generating pages that only swap a keyword.

Make the work useful

A page should pair its tool with decisions, examples, checklists, or source links that help someone finish the task.

Verify before release

We run builds, metadata tests, route audits, mobile browser checks, and live production checks before recording a release.

Start with a focused tool

Choose the workflow closest to the work in front of you. If your club, class, contest chair, couple, venue, or organizer gives a different timing instruction, use that instruction and adjust the practice window.

About SpeechTimer FAQ

Is SpeechTimer free to use?

Yes. The public tools are available without a paid tier or account. Some browsers may still show their own network, storage, or accessibility prompts.

Does SpeechTimer upload my speech or notes?

The timers do not need speech text, recordings, transcripts, or an account. Some tools keep settings or short session records in the browser so a rehearsal can continue; do not enter sensitive information into any shared device.

Is SpeechTimer an official Toastmasters timer?

No. It is an independent utility. Toastmasters clubs, contest chairs, event hosts, teachers, and organizers control the current timing, eligibility, agenda, and judging instructions for their setting.

How does SpeechTimer choose what to improve?

We combine crawl and quality diagnostics, distinct search intent, source checks, browser verification, and observed product signals when enough real data exists. A word count alone is not a quality verdict.

Can I suggest a tool or report a bug?

Yes. Email contact@speechtimer.xyz with the page URL, what you expected, and what happened. Please remove speech text, names, private meeting details, or other sensitive data from screenshots and messages.
